Smoothie of the Week: Watermelon Kiwi

Since it has gotten warmer in Boston, I've been eating watermelon by the bulk to keep myself hydrated. I've also heard about coconut water, which is said to have incredible hydration properties, but when I tried this drink on its own, I hated the taste. For this week's smoothie, I decided to combine these two to create a hydrating smoothie for these recent hot days, hoping that the watermelon and kiwi would cover up the coconut water. Combined with the ice cubes, this smoothie did mask the coconut water, but was still incredibly refreshing, especially in the humidity in my apartment today.

Watermelon Kiwi Recipe (Serves 2) (15 minutes)
Ingredients:
-3 cups watermelon, cubed
-4 small kiwis, diced
-1/2 cup coconut water
-5 ice cubes

1) Add watermelon, kiwi, coconut water, and ice cubes to blender.
2) Blend, using large knife to cut pieces that won't blend every 10 seconds.
3) Once ice cubes are gone, pour into cup and enjoy!
