This month at the Nesto Gallery, the faculty have produced all the art work. It is the Time Beyond Teaching exhibit. It is amazing to see because the faculty's own work. Every day in art class, teachers are constantly trying to help you to experience and master each different area of art, and avoid their own personal bias. I really enjoyed seeing past teachers' - Gordon Chase, Paul Menneg - works. While Menneg's reflected his own teaching style, he assigned an abstract ceramic sculpture to my class my sophomore year. Chase's work, on the other hand, was more unexpected. I did not realize that Shane Fuller was a painter, as the film teacher; however, his work proved that he was a very skilled painter. Sandra Butler's prints were beautiful, and though I've never met her in person, I feel like I understand her better already. Julia von Metzsch is artsy and free-spirited and her work reflected that wonderfully.
