Street Style (Week 2): Neon

As the sun has begun to come out, Bostonians have began putting away their navy's and blacks, instead replacing them with brighter colors. This year's long winter was especially tough, and as a result, it appears that Bostonians are compensating by buying clothes with even brighter colors than ever before.

Nevertheless, pedestrians haven't gone completely crazy, donning 70's workout outfits. Instead, they integrate their neons into their outfits with a single standout piece that pulls their whole look together.

Today, I'll be talking to you about the three colors that seem to have come up most often on the streets of Boston: electric pink, lime green, and tangerine.

ELECTRIC PINK

Pink is no longer just for infant girls. This take on the color maintains femininity, while also bringing a little more wildness to an outfit. I just recently purchased the American Eagle version, and have found countless ways to wear it.

{SAVE: Forever 21's Favorite Crop Top ($4.90); SPEND: American Eagle's Soft Cropped Tank ($11.99); SPLURGE: Akira's Lace Insert Scuba Top ($34.90)}

LIME GREEN

I've never been a huge fan of lime green, as I always saw the color as a little tacky. However, seeing how this color is worn on the streets has made me amend my opinion. Used in more structured pieces such as with the Tibi skirt below, lime green can actually be quite classy.
{SAVE: Ali Skater Skirt ($11.75); SPEND: Fruugo Colour Pop Bandage Mini Skirt ($60); SPLURGE: Tibi Silk-Linen Skirt ($290)}
{SAVE: Forever 21 Basic Triangle Bikini Top ($4.80) & Forever 21 Basic String Bikini Bottom ($4.80); SPEND: Doll Swimwear Triangle Modern Fit Double Rise Scrunch Bikini ($64.89); SPLURGE: Herve Leger Bandage Bikini ($805)}

TANGERINE

I've never been a huge fan of orange, but tangerine, which has popped up everywhere, seems almost edible. I'm loving this color in larger quantities, such as sweaters and dresses.
