Bucket List: Sit Through an Entire Street Artist Performance

Boston's streets are always filled with street performers, and while both of us had watched snippets of performances, we never spent the time to really sit down and watch the whole thing. We decided to sit down for Snap Boogies's performance, and later even found out that someone from our school in fact knows him.
{Sorry this video is lopsided}
Daphne: I've actually seen parts of this street performance before, but never had time to watch it. "Snap Boogie" is so incredibly talented, but what really made his performance stand out to me was his personality. He talked a lot about his past -- making his money as a child street performing, landing on America's Got Talent, receiving a small role in The Way Way Back -- but never made his stories seem heavy or too long. As you can see from the videos, his performance received such a hugely positive reaction; I'd say that over 100 people stayed to watch. Getting to hear him speak and perform allowed me to feel like I really got to know him. This experience gave me a greater appreciation for street artists; knowing that they have a background makes them seem a lot more human.

Eliza: There is always a story behind how a person ended up where he or she is today, and "Snap Boogie" told their story. Their tricks were cool; you didn't think it was going to work out until it did. There were moments where I believed that this was the moment where they would mess up, this was that one performance, but they didn't. Boston has this older, more formal feel than other cities, so I love street performers because they lighten the mood.
