I've had a small stack of pictures from 2012 in my room for two years. I've never had anywhere to put them; they didn't seem to fit into my wall mural. And so after some Pinteresting, I incorporated many of the ideas I saw into a DIY picture board. While I used rather large pictures in a pretty small frame, there are many variations you can choose based on what you like aesthetically. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and will definitely be nailing this board into my wall when I get home.
Instructions
Materials:
-12"x14" wooden board with plastic film
-washable paint (blue, black)
-pictures
-paper clips
-nail
-staple gun
-string
-ruler
-paintbrushes
-paper cutter
-scissors
-black wire
-hammer
1) Mix blue and black washable paint to get navy. Paint frame.
2) Splatter paint plastic film.
3) Choose pictures. Figure out how you want them placed. Use paper cutter to trim pictures to get desired layout.
4) Use staple gun where you desire, making sure the staple is not too close to the board. Measure with ruler distance the staple is from the top and measure out the same distance on the opposite side. Staple there.
5) Wrap wire about staple on one side. Pull wire to other side. Cut wire and wrap the end around the staple.
6) Do the steps 4-6 for two other rows (They do not necessarily have to be equally spaced. Their distance should depend on the height of the pictures).
7) Use paper clips to fasten pictures to wire. (See 1st and 2nd row)
OR
7) Use nail to make hole in the top middle of pictures. Pull string through the hole and tie the pictures to the wire. (See 3rd row)
8) Hammer a nail into the wall. Hang your picture board!
